Mesa AZ Family Photographer

MESA AZ FAMILY PHOTOGRAPHER

As a Mesa AZ Family Photographer, I love shooting near the water. First of all, because it’s one of the few places we get GREEN in Arizona, and I love the green. I also love the movement that it adds to the images, it makes the backdrop very dynamic. But most of all, I LOVE playing in the water during your session.

Do you love candid pictures? Me too. But guess what? They don’t just happen. In fact “candid” is a pretty misleading word… because most candid photography you see is going to be more contrived than the picture would lead you to believe.

But I think that’s okay. Because to me, candid photography is more about how it makes you feel. Its about recreating moments that are similar to candid moments you’ve experienced countless times as a family… in a controlled, aesthetically pleasing way.

Like tickling your kids. Tell me you don’t do that all the time! And the giggles that follow are genuine for everyone. It’s infectious. So when I tell you to tickle your kids to get those real, giggly smiles, its not just about that moment, it’s about every time you’ve ever tickled them.

Now sometimes, candid moments are easy to create. Like a tickle attack. But sometimes not so much… people feel awkward in front of the camera, especially kids as they get older… and parents too… I love being near the water because its an easy way to invite you to play as a family. Wade in the water, splash each other, throw rocks. Things. you’d do if you were visiting the river anyway… memories made, moments remembered.

I’d love to work with you! Please contact me to book your Mesa AZ family pictures! To view more of my work and stay up to date, follow me on Instagram.
