Pictures at the Desert Botanical Garden

My clients often want to know if they can get their pictures done at the Desert Botanical Garden. The short answer is yes, but here’s what you need to know, especially during COVID-19.

Admission & Scheduling:

You may remember from this post that the garden used to have free admission days. Unfortunately, those were canceled due to COVID-19 and I’m not totally sure when they will be reinstated. Until then, Tickets have to be reserved in advance. Tickets are $15-$30 depending on the season and what events they have going on.

Do I have to wear a mask?

Sometimes! They are allowing photography but, as you can see, they were okay with my clients removing their masks while we were actively shooting. If we were walking between locations they had to put their masks back on. I recommend you wear a mask that fits on the loose side so you don’t end up with any pressure lines when you take it off.

When is the best time to shoot?

Good Question! In general, no matter what location, I recommend shooting within an hour of sunrise or sunset. This gets a little tricky depending on when the gardens open and close, meaning they might not open until a few hours after sunrise or close a few hours before sunset. In that case I just recommend scheduling it for as early or late as possible.

Please be considerate

If you chose to have your pictures at the Desert Botanical Gardens please keep in mind that they are a community garden first and are unbelievably kind to let us use it for pictures. Please be considerate of staff and garden visitors.
